Crocs Golf Shoes
Crocs Golf Shoes: Let me start by saying that I have never ever owned a pair of Crocs, nor have I ever wanted to own a pair of Crocs. This is not to say I have never bought a pair – it’s just the opposite as I think I have plopped down cash for at least 12 pairs between my three kids, but zippy Crocs for this guy. So in the spirit of non-judgmental reviews, I figured I was the perfect choice.
I first became aware of the Croc Golf shoes at the 2012 PGA show while strolling around the 9 million square foot venue . . . I literally made a double take when I passed their booth. What I saw reminded me of Crocs but were somehow different, somehow much cooler, somehow not as “crocish” as the Crocs my kids decorated with doo-dads and stomped around in. Well one thing led to another and the next thing you know, three pairs showed up and I was off to the races.
Unlike some golf shoe companies that have basically one look with various color options, Crocs are widely styled but maintain the distintive Croc look – kinda like the Baldwin brothers. So no matter if it is in a saddle, black or wing-tip version, the Crocs vibe is apparent and unmistakeable. While I liked all three styles, I was pretty jacked that the black Braydn version was my size.
One of the first things I noticed was the nubbed insoles, which is kind of like having a Sharper Image foot massager inside your shoe. Nothing new to long time Croc lovers, but a whole new ball game for me. I have no idea of the science behind the Crocs but there is definitely a springy feeling when you walk, much like a new running shoe has. I guess this should not come as a surprise as Crocs whole gig is that they make virtual sponge for your feet.
In terms of the sole, I think one of the best features is the matching accent color they used to tie the whole shoe together, ie green sole with shoes that have a green trim and orange sole with the orange trim. As for the actual cleats, they are plentiful and sturdy. There is no slipping with these shoes as you have a virtual mouth full of gator teeth to grab the earth. As and added bonus, there is a nice gripping sound when you walk on pavement that reminds me of the days of metal spikes but in the rubber version. Despite the excellent traction, the spikes are not too bulky allowing you wear them anywhere without feeling like you are wearing golf shoes. In fact, I am pretty sure these are the same shoes Hank Haney wears 24/7 – or at least every time he is on TV (same thing?).
For the purposes of this review, I took my new Crocs to Pinehurst for a 3 day, 5 round golf outing. I figured, what better way to see how they hold up. From a comfort standpoint, I love ’em. 36 holes in one day demands a shoe with lots of cushion and is not too bulky. Moreover, I was not is any rush to shed the shoes in between rounds or even after we finished our marathon day. In fact, I put them on in the morning and did not take them off until nearly 8pm (as opposed to a bunch of guys who would quickly ditch their spikes to throw on their flip flops as soon as they finished their 1st round).
While Croc golf shoes certainly have a “look”, I personally like the style and have made them my current shoe of choice. The only issue I found, and I think this would be the case for any non-traditional spiked shoe, is in pine-straw. While I had no problem with grip in the fairway, sand or rough, I did find it a bit hard to “dig in” when hitting out of deep pine-straw which is prevalent in Pinehurst. Other than that, I was absolutely thrilled with the Croc golf shoes.
A quick note on the Drayden shoe which is slightly different than the others as there are holes throughout allowing for added ventilation. This is a really nice feature for summer time play.
Finally, all of the Crocs are less than $100 so they will not break the bank. My only wish list item would be that they were offered in half sizes.
So there you have it, a full confession from a former Croc hater. I am going all in, these buggers have style, performance and comfort. What more do you want? Hank Haney’s name inside? Oh yea, they have that too.
You can learn more on the Crocs website.

Winners: CONGRATS to Logan and @chineline
Would love to try these out!!!!! They look soooo comfortable!
Was a bit skeptical my self. Crocs as golf shoes. Tried a pair on at Golfsmith and if it were not for the fact my wife would kill bringing home another pair of golf shoes, I would have worn them out the store.
Most comfortable golf shoe I have ever tried on. I have wide feet do trying on golf shoes is alot like going to the dentist for me, not enjoyable and leave frustrated. But my foot felt right at home. Maybe a anniversary gift from the mrs.
Or maybe I will “accidentally” leave my current golf shoes outside where the dog chews on them. Either way, I know my next purchase.
Great review by the way!
Logan – 15 HDCP
Way to go Logan! you are our lucky winner!
Great review. Definitely in for the contest, of course.
As a closet croc wearer and an avid golfer this has to be one of the greatest inventions ever! I love how crocs feel on my feet, but despise how they look (and so does my wife… lol). However, these are a sweet mix of awesomeness! I’d rather have these than those new Tiger Woods shoes that cost 3 times as much!!!
Love the site and review. Every one seems to love these crocs. I love my Adidas but might have to give these a try!
I have been on the fence myself. This may push me over…
Thanks for the insight. I’d love to try a pair out here in West Texas. A little ventilation in weather that exceeds 100 degrees would be wonderful. The first thing I do after a round is shed the shoes because my nikes, footjoys and addidas are not very comfy. So if u need somewhere to send a pair, Abilene Tx is a good place to send em. Otherwise, I’ll wait to see them in the local golf shop. Might be a few years since we tend to do things a little slower out here 🙂 thanks for the insight.
Would love to have a pair of these! Need the comfort, and style
Daddy needs new shoes! These look very comfortable.
Great review! I’ve been considering a pair of Crocs golf shoes but could not find an unsponsored review until now.
Thanks for this review! I’ve owned one pair of crocs, and while they are insanely comfortable, I could never get myself to wear them out where anyone else could see me in them. However, these crocs golf shoes look good, and if they are as light weight and comfortable as other crocs, I just might be a new crocs golf shoe owner!
Thanks! Kris (Knoxville, TN)
I own a pair of Crocs and wear them around the house, but not outside because they make my feet sweet so bad and I don’t want to be the gobber wearing socks with them. I would welcome trying a pair that don’t look goofy with socks… send em’ my way… thanks
Great review as always guys! I don’t know if I could give up my Adidas but I’m for sure going to try on a pair the next time I see some!
Thanks for the great opportunity. Threeguysgolfblog ROCKS!
Been by the site more than a few times, but I’m looking for new shoes for the upcoming US Am PubLinks and wanted some input on the Crocs.
I’ve never been a Crocs guy, either, but have seen Hank Haney wearing them everywhere so I was curious. Review was great and informational.
I like the spike arrangement too. Seems like a lot of the non-removable spiked shoes lack for grip, but those look, and by your experience, react different to the traction needed to make the swing.
I went to try these on at the crocs store in downtown Toronto but was told that they weren’t expecting to get them in at all. I would hesitantly admit to owning a pair of crocs but they don’t leave the house. These on the other hand, I like the look of ab would most definitely rock these while fishing my lost balls out of water hazards.
I did not even know Crocs had golf shoes! Certainly worth a try & would love to see these colorful shoes out on the course!
Do they have women’s sizes/styles too?
Crocs is releasing their women’s golf shoes this week. We should have our review up in a few weeks (once Sue and Susan give them a test run). ps we should have another pair to give away as well so check back.
Thanks guys for the review. I have a wide foot and a low arch. I need to have supports in most all my shoes. I wear crocs around the house for comfort and support so I am looking forward to walking 18 in my new Prestons!
One of our bloggers has miserable feet but was able to slip his insert into the crocs with no problems. The toe is really wide there is tons of room.
Croccs golf shoes look great!
I’ve always loved my traditional crocs (hot pink) but admit I feel like a duck when I wear them with shorts. Thanks for the review, I will look into the new styles for golf.
I have been telling everyone who will listen that hybrid or spikeless golf shoes are not a fad but a trend. The fastest growing trend in the golf footwear industry and maybe in the entire golf industry period. ECCO started this trend in 2010, when Freddie Couples launched their line of Street hybrid golf shoes. The rest of the golf world has finally followed them. But, CROCS doing hybrid golf shoes?!? Hopefully this doesn’t kill the trend. CROCS is on my bucket list. I tell my kids, if you ever see me weaing a pair of CROCS, it is time for me to kick the bucket!!!!!!
Ha! Crocs seems to have as many haters as lovers. As I said, I was in the hater camp, and still won’t wear the old school croc, but I really do love their golf shoe.
Adam, can’t wait to see the review and response to the ECCO Street collection. We do a Premiere, Camel, Textile and Luxury version of this hybrid style. We have also introduced the next generation of hybrids called BIOM Hybrid. Check them out on http://www.eccousa.com. You should also consider doing a review on the first natural motion golf product introduced to the market by ECCO called BIOM Golf. It is cleated product but very cool. I dare say it is the most comfortable cleated golf footwear on the market. Look forward to getting some product on your feet and on your website.
I had no idea the white crocs had the little breathable holes in them.
Great review, I have been interested in these, Love the look of the Drayden..
Great review. I couldn’t wait and picked one up and it is the most comfortable golf shoe ever and I have my adidas $300 shoes…I wear it on the course and off the course. The shoes grip the grass like regular golf shoes….LOVE THEM….hoping to get more colours for the future…My recommendations is to try them on as they will fit differently from style to style. BUT all feel great.
They look really comfortable. Im all for the more comfortable less traditional golf shoe.
As a croc hater as well I am oddly intrigued by these!!!
would love to win a pair of the new crocs. I have an old golf clog and 5 other pairs of casuals. thanks for the opportuntiy, mike
Great review. I am really excited that finally there are golf shoes that are comfortable. I recently bought the Ecco golf shoes and they are comfortable but very pricey. I will be buying these shoes in the near future. Thank you for the reviews.
Great review. I am very intrigued by these shoes.
cool
Good review. I will check out the shoes this weekend.
Congrats to Logan-Winner of a Free pair of Crocs. The other winner was @chineline from our Twitter retweets. Let us know how you like the shoes. Email me with size, style and address. Adam@threeguysgolfblog.com
I love all of the casual golf shoes. Ecco shoes are a bit narrow though. I really like the cushioned feel of the Crocs over the rest. It is also nice to wear your shoes from home to the course and beyond. No more sitting on the back bumper to change shoes.
Randall, that is exactly right. Being able to go from home, to the course, to a bar without changing shoes is freaking awesome! Not sure why it took the industry so long, but I don’t see the traditional golf spike dominating the market for very long.
Nice shoes, good feel but of doesn’t wicker my prespiration. My feet waver with the moister. I.also find my right shoe snugger at the end of my round my big toes aches.
Tried these on in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and loved the way they feel. Needed to keep my $100.00 for spending and decided I didn’t need to pack them home. Now that I am back home in Ohio they will be a definite purchase for this years golfing!
Just played a round today with fellow blogger Wade who was wearing his Crocs. They have held up really well after nearly a full year of use. Great shoe for under $100.
Yeah, I’ve really liked wearing these. They certainly are comfortable, and useful in lots of conditions. And as you know, I walk all the time, and they’ve really shown how durable they are slogging along : )
Love the shoes and the whole idea actually. I’m continually experiemeting with new golf attire. Am I eligible for a free pair of the CROCS golf shoes? Let me know. Would love to try them out.
Thanks, Greg Hunter
Greg,
Alas, we have already run the promo. However, I can tell you that all of the Crocs we reviewed continue to hold up very well. It’s a solid shoe and very economical.
whats wrong with you guys? worried about fashion?
I wear crocs whenever and where-ever I want. period.
the shoes are comfy. nice review.
i have been wearing mine for a year, and they are going strong. they really are a very comfortable and useful shoe for me, and they give me no trouble with knees or hips, where traditional golf shoes do. i’ve also been very glad for the spikeless sole, and the nubs have held up well.
The Crocs will definitely be my next pair of golf shoes
what a great review. i got a free pair at a hyundai/hank haney clinic. i love the feel of the inside and love the look. i picked up another pair of the breathables in myrtle beach and love them also. would love to add to my collection.
These shoes look awesome! Send me a pair!
Finally,
I can wear Crocs with socks with a good reason.
Reading my very first blog about Crocs golf shoes! Great review. I would have never considered Crocs as golf shoes, but after reading your blog. I would like try a pair.
What a great article. You actually made reading about Crocs interesting and almost fun. I also have never bought a pair nor did I think that I ever would until now. I have been looking for a pair of spike less golf shoes that would be comfortable and affordable for some time. Looks like you have a winner here. Thanks. Dan
Just tried these on today, but did not want to rush the purchase until I read reviews. They were comfy when I tried the on. Glad to hear they hold up on the course.
Been playing golf for 40 yrs. would love to try your new spikeless golf shoes.
Thank you for the Croc review . I was looking at a pair and after reading your review I bought a pair
Have been looking for a pair of golf shoes that I could once again walk the course in. I have planters facetious so this condition has made it difficult to walk at all. I do wear other Crocs and so was very happy to read your review. Sounds like this will be my new pair of golf shoes.
At first I would have thought they were a Croc, But have worn croc’s to the pool (fur lined) they are the best, Would love to place my painful feet into a pair of these to walk 18 holes in comfort… for once. 🙂
